Miami

In Miami. I got here this morning, no problems on the trip, except for leaving Cordoba. My passport doesn't have any entry stamps in it because it's brand new, so they sent me to the supervisor. When I got to the counter, He ran my passport and the argentine machines don't read the new security gadgets on my passport. So they didn't believe me when I said it was new. My washed document didn't help much either, I got through because I had the permision paper from mom and dad.

Miami is good, I went to a museum today because I'm a friend of a kid who enjoys intellegent outings. the place was called Moca. There was a modern display, made by europeans. I don't mean for these next few sentences to be offensive to anyone who enjoys modern art, but I must express what I think about what i've seen. I'm only speaking about this particular set.

Every display was unique, many of them were very well thought through and challenge the viewer to discover their purpose and technique.
The thing about modern art is that most of it seems like just a bunch of junk put together. When I was looking at them I couldn't help but thinking, "I could do this". They had a bunch of videos that weren't very well put together. One gets a sense of a whole philosophy behind their work. I percived a strong stream of marxism and Nietzsche. Many express ideals of liberalism. Looking at the displays you get the feeling that you are being invited to let go and enjoy life, but that life that they are enjoying is just a vicious cirlce of their own sin. I was reminded of what C.S Lewis said in "the great divorce": the longer a person persists in his or her own sin, more and more of that person is degraded until there is nothing left but living sin.

Art according to some is a form of liberation o this "Big bad world", but I get the feeling that it can, just like anyhting else that gains the importance it doesn't deserve, become a trap. It is sometimes used as a life style, but I just don't like it.

The only liberation we will recieve from the "big bad world" is going to be Jesus coming for the second time.

What I wrote was only my personal opinion, and I wasn't able to express everything in the manner that i wanted to.

Tomorrow I get my camera, so maybe then I can get some photos up.

God is good all the time, he provides and encourages the weak heart.
